The Wokingham in Bloom campaign was established in 2013 and in our first year we achieved a Silver Gilt award and a regional award for ‘branching out’. In 2014 we improved our score and achieved another Silver Gilt award.  Again in 2015 we received another Silver Gilt award with an improved mark of 83%.

The Steering Group are working closely with residents and local gardening groups to see if in 2016 we can achieve a Gold award.  We are knocking on the door.

The Town’s chosen colours for 2016 are red, white and blue in anticipation of the Queen’s 90th birthday.  We are encouraging all residents if they would have in their front gardens some plants with these colours. The hanging baskets around the town will be planted with begonias, surfinias and silver helichrysum.

Stop Press… Wokingham in Bloom is delighted with Silver Gilt in 2016 with another improved score – 84%.  Judges Kate Dagnall and Paul Almond said ” Wokingham in Bloom is a true catalyst, bringing the community together, instilling pride of place and making Wokingham a better place, keep up the good work as gold is not far away’.

Congratulations to everyone involved.
