Wokingham in Bloom returns in 2018 after taking a break last year.
We will pick up on past projects, support existing community groups and look for new opportunities to enhance the town.
Wokingham in Bloom was established in 2013 and in our first year we achieved a Silver Gilt award, repeated in 2014 and 2015 with an improved score each year. In 2016 the chosen colour scheme for hanging baskets and planters around the town was red, white and blue in anticipation of the Queen’s 90th birthday. Residents were also encouraged to plant with these colours in their front gardens. We were awarded another Silver Gilt again improving the score to 84%, just shy of the Gold award.
Judges Kate Dagnall and Paul Almond said “Wokingham in Bloom is a true catalyst, bringing the community together, instilling pride of place and making Wokingham a better place, keep up the good work as gold is not far away”.
